Sources and collection dates

Listing information may be compiled from publicly available sources and from information supplied by businesses or users. Each listing shows the source and the date the information was collected or last reviewed, so visitors can judge how current it is.

Verification labels

A listing may show one of the following labels:

• Unverified — no additional check has been carried out beyond initial collection.
• Self-verified — the business itself has confirmed the listed information.
• Admin-verified — an xMAD administrator has checked the listing.
• Disputed — the accuracy of some information on the listing has been challenged and is under review.

These labels describe xMAD's own review process only, not a guarantee of quality, legality or trustworthiness.

No copied review text

xMAD does not copy third-party review text into listings. Where a business has reviews on other platforms, listings link out to those platforms rather than reproducing their content.

Corrections, claims, removals and suggestions

When request submissions are enabled, anyone can request a correction, claim a listing, or request a listing's removal from that listing's page, and can suggest a business that is missing from search. Every request enters an administrator-review queue. Nothing on a listing changes or publishes automatically as a result of a submission — a request only takes effect after an administrator has reviewed it.

Urgent or credible disputes

Where a dispute about a listing is urgent or credible — for example, a report of impersonation, safety concerns, or a likely inaccuracy that could cause harm — xMAD may temporarily mark the listing as disputed, or temporarily suspend it from public view, while the matter is reviewed. This is a precaution, not a finding, and does not itself constitute an admission that any prior information was inaccurate.

Response times

xMAD aims to acknowledge complaints and requests promptly and to review them as soon as reasonably practicable. xMAD does not currently promise a fixed response time, as the administrator review process is not yet fully staffed.
